We stayed two nights at a full hook up site. I wasn’t sure about the location at first, but it ended up being great. You can walk to everything. I would definitely stay again, but not in a full hookup site. I would stay in water and electric only because they have a better view. We had a view of the big white propane gas tank but all in all it was OK. Not five stars because it’s literally a parking lot but definitely 4+ for the convenience factor. Laundry facilities are located in the hotel and are very clean. Cannot speak about the bathrooms as I did not use them.

RV Park Review 4 of 5 stars I’ve stayed at Lakehead Boat Basin in Duluth, Minnesota five or six times now, so I know the place pretty well. The biggest draw is the location — you’re right on the water, which is fantastic for boaters and anyone who wants easy access to the lake. That convenience is the main reason we keep coming back. The marina facilities and views make it a solid choice if being close to the water is your priority. That said, it’s not the quietest spot. The RV row along the street can get noisy with vehicles constantly backing up and coming and going. During the week, the Corps of Engineers often has construction going on, which adds to the activity and traffic. If you’re someone (like us) who prefers a quieter, lower-traffic setting, this might not be your ideal spot despite the great waterfront access. Overall, it’s a convenient place for water-focused trips, but temper your expectations on peace and quiet. As one of the top 10% of reviewers worldwide on Google for restaurants and RV parks, I try to be straightforward so other travelers know exactly what to expect. Site #26 Water/ Electric $59.30/night including tax (Cash price) $61.67/night (credit card price) Check in : 1500 Check out: 1100. Check in is at the Lakehead Service Center just prior to entering the marina and where the campsites are located. Lakehead Boat Basin is not your typical campground. It’s basically a parking lot at the marina that offers RV sites., but it’s by far the best parking lot I’ve ever camped in. Some sites are FHU and the others are W/E only. A dump station is available. The location of the dump seems awkward as it’s at the entrance to the campground. It is located at the back of site 1. FYI: a storm passed through the area the day of arrival, the dump area was submerged in water. Over night it did recede some so you could dump without standing in a puddle of water. Sites are all on pavement. In my opinion, the W/E sites have a far better view of the lift bridge than the FHU sites. Site 26 was a water/electric site. Needed a few blocks to get level. The electrical pedestal was at the back of the site, but on the campside. It appeared that every other campsite has their electrical box on the “wrong” side. Neat to stay on the water and watch boats pull in. Easy and scenic walk to attractions like the aquarium and ship tours.

Had a great stay with our RV at the basin. Very interesting place to “camp” (water & electricity hookups) in the heart of the harbor. Facility is very clean and well maintained. Excellent shower and laundry facilities. Can easily walk to the arial lift bridge.
